Privacy and data retention
This page describes what happens to anything you send through esp360.ca. It is written plainly because the people most likely to use the recorder are patients, clinicians and researchers, and they are entitled to know exactly where their voice ends up.
Voice recordings
Your recording stays on your own device while you make it. Nothing is transmitted until you tick the consent box and tap Send recording.
When you send it, the audio file is stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage under an account controlled by Mark E. Paull, and a record of the submission is written to a Cloudflare D1 database in the same account. A notification email is sent to Mark. The recording is not passed through any third-party form service, transcription service, advertising network or analytics provider.
Recordings and their database records are deleted after 365 days. You can ask for yours to be deleted sooner, at any time, without giving a reason — quote the reference shown to you after sending, and it will be removed within seven days.
What is stored alongside the audio
Only what you provide: an optional name, an optional email address if you would like a reply, the recording's size, format and duration, the time of submission, and your browser's user-agent string. Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting and is not retained against your submission.
What is never done with it
Recordings are not published, quoted, sold, shared with third parties, or used as training data for any model. They are not used in conference material, publications or correspondence unless you have given separate written permission.
Clinical content
esp360.ca is a research and conference presentation site. It is not a clinical service, and nothing sent through it is monitored. Please do not send anything that needs a clinical response, and do not include a third party's identifiable health information in a recording. If you are unwell or in danger, contact your own care team or your local emergency service.
Site data
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and embeds no third-party trackers. Standard Cloudflare server logs apply. A service worker caches pages on your device so the site works offline; clearing your browser data removes it.
Asking for deletion, or asking a question
Write to Mark E. Paull, Montréal, Québec, at the address on the contact links throughout this site. Deletion requests are actioned within seven days and confirmed to you.
